The New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association’s Freshman Championship – The Priddy Trophy – hosted by Sail Black Rock (SBR) at Captain’s Cove Seaport in Bridgeport, CT on April 22, 2017 has earned silver certification as a Clean Regatta from Sailors for the Sea.

Just off Hudson Park in New Rochelle, NY lies Echo Island. The island has been the home of the Echo Bay Yacht Club for over 100 years and with changing times and a decline in membership, the club reached out to Port Sailing School, based at the New Rochelle Municipal Marina, to provide additional services. These services will include a children’s sailing program, adult sailing lessons, a racing program and use of sailing school boats.

On January 25, the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) Board of Trustees voted to approve a contract for the South Fork Wind Farm, a 90-megawatt (MW) project that will produce enough clean, local energy to power 50,000 homes. The project’s 15 turbines will be built 30 miles east of Montauk, New York, in an area of federal waters already leased for wind energy development.
