Our friends at the Marion Bermuda Race, Marblehead Halifax Race and Bermuda 1-2 Race are jointly sponsoring the inaugural Northeast Ocean Race Symposium on March 25, 2023 at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. The Marion Bermuda Race, as lead organizer, has teamed up with with the Marblehead Halifax Race and the Bermuda 1-2 Race to offer this unique event. The event is open to all race participants and the public; it is not a race requirement.

Join us for a full day of information, interaction, and invigoration with a set of sessions to help you better prepare for, and enjoy, your race – or just offshore cruising. There will be speakers, panels, and opportunities for questions and answers as well as a “gam” to close out our day and hopefully ease your path, not only to the starting line, but to the finish as well.

Topics include Crew Selection & Preparedness, Communications Options for Offshore Racers, Rigging Systems Maintenance & Repair, a Captains’ Forum panel discussion, Newport Bermuda Race Accident – Investigation & Recommendations, breakout sessions on the Marion Bermuda Race and Marblehead Halifax Race, Survival Navigation, Heavy Weather Management, and Steering Systems Maintenance & Repair.

Registration is from 0730 to 0830, and the symposium runs from 0830 to 1730 with lunch provided at break. The fee is $185 for the first entry, and $145 for subsequent entries on the same boat. For more information and to register, visit marionbermuda.com. ■
