In this Long Island Maritime Museum Winter Lecture Series presentation, Dr. Artie Kopelman, co-founder and President of the Coastal Research & Education Society of Long Island (CRESLI) and SUNY Distinguished Service Professor, will introduce you, via photographs, to the subjects of his long term research project, some of whom have returned for 13 years in a row.

In this Mystic Seaport Museum Adventure Series presentation, authors and historians Kerr & Simons will share the many adventures experienced aboard the topsail schooner Regina Maris, from carrying cargo, fishing, rescuing Jews fleeing the Nazi occupation of Denmark, sailing the worlds oceans, retracing Captain James Cook’s route of discovery, researching whales, serving as a floating classroom, and more. On the weekend before Father’s Day, bring Dad to check out some of the finest rides ever named for fish and marine mammals in The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s second auto show. Cars include Barracudas, Marlins, Sting Rays, Porsche “Whale Tails,” a Daimler Dart SP250 known for its “catfish mouth” front end…and maybe a few “mussel” cars, too. The meanest “mussel” car at last year’s show was a 1970 Hemi ‘Cuda that won several races and hillclimbs…
