Guided Tours of the Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard & Watercraft Hall

January 7, 2022

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00am on Friday, repeating indefinitely

Ever wondered what’s behind the ropes at Mystic Seaport Museum’s Preservation Shipyard? Or what is inside the Watercraft Hall – open to the public only a few times per year? Join us this winter for small group guided tours of the Shipyard’s machine shop, rigging loft, and interact with our skilled shipwrights as they describe the work they’re doing on this winter’s projects, including Mayflower II, PilotSherman ZwickerStar, and more.

Following the shipyard tour, join a guided tour of the Museum’s Watercraft Collection, one of the largest and most diverse collections of its kind in the world, comprising over 460 boats – mostly wood and mostly American – going back to 1824…and every outboard engine you can imagine. Registration required at least 24 hours before tour. Non-members will need to purchase admission separately if they wish to visit the rest of the Museum on the day of their tour. Admission can be purchased online or at either entrance.

For more information and to register, call 860-572-0711 or log onto mysticseaport.org.
