Our friends at Southold Yacht Club in Southold, NY are hosting the 50th Annual World’s Longest Sunfish Race, Around Shelter Island NY on Saturday, July 18. This circumnavigation has a course of approximately 24 miles.

“The World’s Longest Sunfish Race, Around Shelter Island NY is a challenging, fun distance race for Sunfish on the beautiful Peconic Bay on Long Island’s fantastic North Fork,” said event co-chair Beth Fleisher. “In addition to many trophies to win, our sponsor, LaserPerformance, has donated one new Sunfish and two race sails for a raffle. Each sailor receives one raffle ticket with their registration. Only sailors get a raffle ticket, so the odds of winning are in your favor! Come join us for a beautiful day on the bay, and a great beach party to follow.”

A small, family-oriented club open to all who have a love of sailing, Southold Yacht Club’s mission is to make sailing accessible to the North Fork community.
