Dedicated to the memory of Tom Clagett, a strong, tough, driven person who was dedicated to the values of Corinthian sailing and sportsmanship, The Clagett is North America’s premier adaptive sailing event.
The Clagett Regatta aims to develop a program that will enable sailors with disabilities to reach their personal levels of achievement. Clagett Newport provides a venue and process that includes inspirational information and educational instruction that will assist sailors with disabilities to attain competitive intermediate, advanced and or elite status.
Each year The Clagett aims to provide its sailors with the best coaches, and this year’s lineup includes Betsy Alison, Dave Perry, David Dellenbaugh and Ken Legler. Coaching and fleet racing in this year’s Clagett Newport will be in the singlehanded 2.4mR, doublehanded Martin 16, and triplehanded Sonar.
