On the first weekend of summer, the New York City will serve as the backdrop for New York SailGP, a new, global sports championship featuring six nations going head-to-head on identical, supercharged foiling catamarans.

New York SailGP will take place between 5-7pm on Friday and Saturday, June 21-22, 2019, just off the Battery and run north toward Rockefeller Park, with Ellis Island and Manhattan’s iconic skyline serving as a stunning backdrop.

National teams for the United States, Australia, China, France, Great Britain and Japan will compete in a total of five short-format fleet races, culminating with the top two teams going head-to-head in a match race final to determine the overall event winner on Saturday afternoon.

Fans have three unique opportunities to enjoy New York SailGP:

– The New York SailGP Race Village will be the best place for fans to experience the racing excitement onshore. Located at Brookfield Place, Battery Park City, this free-to-the-public event will be the hub for all activity over the race period.

– A front-row seat for the action with three ticketed options available for on-water race day experiences, offered in partnership with Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises and Classic Harbor Line.

– Should you prefer to watch the action from the comfort of your own boat – please register for our complimentary Boater Registration Program to receive important race management information and a commemorative New York SailGP boat flag.

The Hudson River, known for the changing windshifts through the Manhattan skyscrapers, strong currents and tidal flow, will test the world-class athletes to their limits.
