Three-Day Show Will Inspire Boaters for the 2018 Season While Supporting a Great Cause

Essex, CT  (April 23, 2018) -The 3rd Annual Connecticut Spring Boat Show will take place May 4-6, 2018 at Brewer Essex Island Marina located in Essex, CT.  The in-water boat show has announced Sails Up 4 Cancer, a non-profit organization supporting cancer care, education, prevention and research, will benefit from the $5 entrance donation to attend the show.

The Boating Industry has come together for this show to share the some of the latest innovations in boating while supporting a great cause.  Show attendees will have an ideal opportunity to compare different boats, dealers and options in one beautiful location.  A unique feature of the in-water show offers interested boat buyers select opportunities for sea trials throughout the weekend; thus giving prospective buyers a unique ‘try-before-you-buy’ experience.  We expect more than 3000 people to attend the show, rain or shine. 

Visitors will enjoy seeing a wide range of new and brokerage, power and sail models of all sizes, 10ft to larger than 50ft from American Tug, Beneteau, Boston Whaler, Buzzards Bay, Catalina, Chris Craft, Cutwater, Dufour, Dyer, East Bay, Formula,  Four Winns, Grand Banks, Hunt, Lagoon, Mainship, Maxum, Meridian, MJM, Monterey, Nordic Tug, Nordstar, Ranger Tug, Rossiter, Sabre, San Juan, Scarab, Scout, Sea Born, Sea Ray, Southport, Surfhunter, Tiara, Vanquish and many other leading boat brands!

In addition to boats on the docks, the show will have SUP and Kayak demonstrations, gear, accessories and service companies on site from Action Sports, Boatique USA, Boat Name Gear, Brewer Essex Island Marina, CareFree Boat Club, Connecticut River Museum, East Coast Trailers, Essex Corinthian Yacht Club, Freedom Boat Club, Nautical Circuits, NMI-Permateek, Pantaenuis America, Sails Up 4 Cancer, Save the Sound, The Dock Shop, Untold Horizons, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, WindCheck Magazine and more to be announced soon.

Also new this year, ‘Maritime Meetups’ will be offered in the Main Shed as an opportunity to learn from the professionals.  Adults and children are invited to participate in the free sessions, meet-up times will be posted at the event.  A Soundkeeper representative will discuss improvements to Long Island Sound Water Quality and how we can keep it improving, The Connecticut River Museum will offer Rope Making for kids (big kids invited!), Untold Horizons will present ‘How to Best Plan your Cruise’, and Action Sports will talk about what SUP Is Right For You, a discussion on the wide varieties of shapes, sizes and means of propulsion that are available today.  

Brewer Essex Island Marina is located on a 13-acre private Island, accessed by a complementary ferry service, and offers 125 slips accommodating vessels up to 200’. The resort marina is family friendly and offers food and beverages, along with live music throughout the weekend.   

Historical Downtown Essex is located on the Connecticut River, a few short miles from Long Island Sound.  The small waterfront town is a boating, sailing and tourist destination featuring quaint shops, markets, and restaurants.   Bring your family and friends out to enjoy this sea-side boat show.
