Bermuda One-Two Yacht Race Leg 1 start
Sponsored by Newport Yacht Club and the St. George’s Dinghy & Sports Club and first sailed in 1977, this biennial event comprises a singlehanded race from Newport to Bermuda and a doublehanded race from Bermuda back to Newport (starts 6/19).

This expanded event welcomes women sailors of all levels and ages to workshops including the popular Take the Helm® track, an introduction to sailing for women. Programming includes a full day of classroom, dockside and on-the-water workshops taught by experienced female instructors and captains. Keynote Speakers are Tracy Edwards, MBE, founder of The Maiden Factor; and Doris Colgate, founder of the NWSA.

Presented by The Maritime Music and Tradition Society, this free weekend event includes a Symposium on the Music of the Sea, daytime workshops, a parade, a family stage, demonstrations of sailor skills, a Sunday morning revival-style hymn sing, and late-night Chantey Sings in the historic Griswold Inn! Evening concerts held on the main stage are ticketed events.

Presented by the Storm Trysail Club, this hands-on workshop includes presentations covering safety procedures, particularly man overboard recovery and big-boat organization & crew work, in-the-water demonstration of inflatable PFDs and the inflation of a six-man canopied life raft, and sail handling & man overboard drills, both upwind with jibs and downwind with spinnakers.
