For the average sailor, there aren’t many tests of blue water seamanship as accessible as the biennial 635-mile race from the City by the Sea to the Onion Patch. Organized by the Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and first run (from Brooklyn, NY) in 1906, this is the oldest regularly scheduled ocean race in the world.
