23rd Annual Moby-Dick Marathon

This event includes a pre-marathon dinner and an illustrated discussion “Gender and the Man’s World of Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville Scholar Jennifer Baker (5:30 – 9pm Friday); Stump the Scholars with Melville Society Project members (10am – 1pm Saturday); Children’s Moby-Dick Marathon in which kids of all ages can read a section of an abridged version by Classic Starts (10am Saturday);the 4th Annual Portuguese Mini-Marathon, a reading of Tiago Patricio’s abridged version in Portuguese (3pm Saturday); and The Main Attraction, a 24-hour read-a-thon of America’s most iconic novel (12pm Saturday to 12pm Sunday).
