US Sailing Partners with TropicSport to Protect Sailors & the Ocean

US Sailing, the National Governing Body of the sport, and TropicSport, an industry leading skin care and sunscreen brand, have developed a partnership to better educate the sailing community on how to protect their skin from the harmful effects of the sun using eco-friendly products.

TropicSport is a complete skin care system that includes reef-friendly mineral sunscreens and after-sun face and body cleansers and moisturizers. Made in the USA from natural ingredients, TropicSport was formulated to work in the harsh sun of the tropics. It will stand up for hours in the hot sun, so sailors can enjoy the ocean and outdoors longer while minimizing skin damage.

“We are pleased to partner with US Sailing in 2019 and educate the sailing community on the effects of chemical sunscreen use,” said Lisa Palmer, TropicSport founder. “We are here to encourage the community to ‘go blue’ and join in enlightening the public on eliminating harmful materials to protect our athletes, families and environment.”

TropicSport will be a sponsor at several US Sailing events in 2019. They will be activating their brand as an experiential partner on location at the Hempel World Cup Series Miami (January 27 – February 3), National Sailing Programs Symposium (January 31 – February 2), USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festivals, and US Sailing Education Zones, featuring the Reach initiative for STEM education.

“US Sailing is excited to work alongside TropicSport on educating sailors about the most effective ways to care for their skin while sailing,” said Jack Gierhart, Chief Executive Officer of US Sailing. “TropicSport will have a unique opportunity to engage with the participants at several of our US Sailing events in 2019 for a chance to discover their best skin care solutions and purchase on site.” As part of the partnership, US Sailing members will benefit from discounted pricing on TropicSport products.
