The C&C 2015 Northeast Rendezvous will be in central Long Island Sound this year at the beautiful Cedar Island Marina in Clinton, CT on September 11-13, 2015. Information and reservations can be made at cnc2015.com.
Several C&C’s in attendance at the 2012 C&C Rendezvous in Mystic, CT
The Rendezvous is open to all owners of C&C Yachts, from the early designs to the newest fleet produced by US Watercraft, and will feature a private floating dock, pool, hot tub, recreation area, two dinners (pot luck BYO and waterfront restaurant buffet), a spouse shopping shuttle to the local outlet mall, a surprise guest, and more.
The core of the group know each other from the email distribution list provided by the cncphotoalbum.com website where C&C owners can post questions and receive answers/advice from the collective wisdom of the group. Topics range from sails to engines, and anything else that has to do with owning a C&C sailboat. “it’s one of the most valuable aspects of owning my C&C,” said David Risch, owner of the C&C 40 Corsair, which just completed the Marion-Bermuda race in the celestial-navigation division. “I’ve learned so much from them.”
Previous C&C Rendezvous have been in Mystic, Block Island and Newport. “We moved the Rendezvous into central Long Island Sound this year to welcome many C&C owners that are in the Long Island, Westchester and Connecticut area,” said Edd Schillay, Captain of the C&C 37+ Starship Enterprise and this year’s organizer of the event. “It’s a great opportunity to make new friends, share our ‘war stories’ and the love for our boats, as well as see other C&C’s. It’s like a C&C-only floating boat show.”
The cost for the Rendezvous is $2.15 per foot per night and $53.00 per person, which covers all the events and private buffet dinner at the marina’s waterfront restaurant, AQUA. Water and 20A power hookups are also included.
For those that want to attend by land, the Rendezvous is a 20-minute walk from the Clinton Metro-North train station, with lodging nearby as well.
At least fifteen C&Cs are expected to attend from as far east as the Boston area and as far west as New York City, with over 30 boat owners and guests. The schedule of events, registered attendees and other details can be found at the Rendezvous website cnc2015.com.
