Free One-Day Sailing Class Provides Race Instruction for Members & Non-Members
Noroton Yacht Club is offering a free Crew Training Seminar for anyone who knows the basics of sailing and has an interest in learning one-design sailboat racing.
The training will take place at Noroton Yacht Club on Saturday, June 7, from 9a-4p. Instruction includes a two-hour onshore class, an afternoon on-water session, and a post party for participants and their families. Non-members are encouraged to participate.
Course topics include one-design boat basics, wind and navigation tips, race day strategy and more. The afternoon session will pair seasoned Noroton Yacht Club skippers with class attendees for hands-on training.
About Noroton Yacht Club: Founded in 1928, Noroton Yacht Club is a private club in Darien, dedicated to sailing. Noroton provides a junior sailing program for both members and non-members. As well as promoting recreational sailing, many Club members participate in sailboat racing. Noroton’s racing fleet includes Sonars, Vipers, Lightnings and Ideal 18’s.
